The Inbetweeners were formed in 2011 to fill the gap between the Junior and Senior choir. An enthusiastic group of 15 singers enjoy meeting on a Wednesday evening. Directed by Karen Maxwell and accompanied by Lesley Niven the group enjoy sharing their musical talents as part of our own worship and further afield. This session has been a very busy one for us.
After our performance at the Harvest service and then at the Remembrance service our rehearsals focussed on our centenary preparations and our Christmas performances.
The New Year has seen us visiting Wishaw South for their guest night with the other guilds from the surrounding area and Motherwell South for their Guild and Men's Fellowship joint closing social, as well as taking part along with the Senior choir at Mr Doyle's retiral evening. As we ended our session it was fitting that were in our own church and with our own Guild as they too brought the session to a close.
To date we have been able to donate over £200 to charities supported by the Guild, and have supported our own Junior Church and Junior Choir.
The highlight of our calendar was our performance at the Civic centre as part of the Centenary celebrations.
It was wonderful to share with so many friends and family of the congregation of St Mary's Parish as together we celebrated 100 years of worship and witness.
By God's grace, the building and parish of St Mary's has been a place of community, fellowship and worship and we give thanks for the many people who have contributed with their time and talents.
Our program of songs for the evening was fitting for such an occasion … popular … modern … something from the past ... tuneful I hope ... but all with words which reflect God's wonderful world.
As we celebrate our past and rejoice in our present we look forward to the future with eager eyes. Our 2015/2016 calendar is already looking to be another busy session!
