The Christmas cheer was in abundance at St Mary's over the weekend of the 3rd Sunday of Advent.  On Saturday, all sections of our Junior Church enjoyed their Christmas parties, topped off by a visit from Santa.

On Sunday, our day began with lively worship in the form of Lessons and Carols.  Music was provided by each of our choirs - the Junior Choir, Inbetweeners and Church Choir - who were all in fine voice.  The repertoire included two impressive joint pieces.  The Inbetweeners and Church Choir sang Silent Night, with a verse sung in German! Then all three choirs sang a rousing and multifarious version of Ding Dong Merrily On High.

In the evening, we met in the church grounds to sing carols by fire and torchlight.  This was followed by a hearty supper of soup and cakes in the hall.  During supper we were treated to video messages from girls and boys from the Junior Church and a performance of the infamous Y-Zone panto.

Thanks to all of those who made the weekend's events a great success.
